Oviedo, May 22, 2013—IFCO SYSTEMS has decided to support the Food Bank in Asturia through the free provision of RPCs (Reusable Plastic Containers).
These are used both for the collection and distribution of food, and help to improve packaging and transportation processes considerably. Thanks to RPCs, no single-use packages are utilized which harm the environment and are difficult to recycle. The socially responsible and charitable collaboration between IFCO and the Food Bank in Asturia facilitates all operations regarding collection of food from various supporting partners and delivery to different charitable organizations.
In addition to the above mentioned benefits of the RPCs, the containers are easy to handle and stack, reducing storage space and providing more convenience, speed and safety in the collection of food during the “Kilo” initiatives. The Foundation of the Food Bank in Asturia expresses its gratitude to IFCO SYSTEMS for this socially responsible initiative which supports its efforts with charitable organizations that care for the poor.
IFCO SYSTEMS embraces their decision on collaboration as an integral part of their initiative for Corporate Social Responsibility, "WORLDWIDE RESPONSIBILITY”, which supports food banks and other charitable organizations world-wide.
